About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at PerkinElmer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development, installation, and maintenance of electronics for new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to perform product sustaining activities.
  • Design circuits and perform tests and evaluations for design verification and validation.
  • Use technical knowledge to determine the most effective solution for complex problems spanning multiple technical disciplines.
  • Propose technology concepts that can be realized in existing products or new product designs.
  • Work with scientists and other engineers to prove out designs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide technical insight to minimize risk and maximize opportunity.
  • Identify potential new products and work with internal staff, customers, and partners to influence their technical and business impact.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of recent design engineering experience in a high technology environment.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Mixed signal design experience is mandatory.
  • High voltage power supply design experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to create and analyze advanced analog and digital circuit designs using state-of-the-art components.
  • Experience with IPC standards and PCB manufacturing from an electronic design perspective.
  • Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting PCBAs is mandatory.
  • Ability to use industry-standard CAD packages and high-level design languages.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes to develop cost-effective and reliable designs.
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot with standard test equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of EMI-EMC management techniques to pass compliance testing of electronic equipment.
  • Ability to use standard documentation tools to create and communicate design, specifications, and test results.
