Webuild, a leading international construction company, is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join its team. This exciting role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery of infrastructure projects that meet environmental obligations and policies.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all inspections and monitoring tasks required to accurately record and inspect contractor activities. This includes monitoring and surveying tasks to maintain compliance with environmental policy and best management practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain daily inspection records and reports to ensure project site compliance
  • Support the Environmental Compliance Officer by providing site reports and inspection data
  • Determine code violations and issue written notices
  • Interview individuals to determine the nature of suspected violations
  • Provide recommendations for improving environmental protection
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a post-secondary degree specializing in environmental science or management, or a diploma in environmental technology or engineering. You should also have at least 3-5 years' experience in environmental monitoring and mitigation during transportation project construction.

Familiarity with project management processes and holding certification as a Canadian Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CAN-CISEC) would be an advantage.
