Clinical Interventionist, Provincial Preschool Autism Services

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our Provincial Preschool Autism Service, you will play a vital role in providing person and family-centred services to preschoolers across Nova Scotia who are suspected of or have a diagnosis of autism.
The Provincial Preschool Autism Service is a partnership between IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, and Autism Nova Scotia. Our goal is to provide a needs-based model responsive to the individual needs of children and their families. You will work within an interprofessional team to facilitate a goal-setting process with families, provide assessment, and develop, implement, and coordinate intervention programs.
As a Clinical Interventionist, you will contribute to family education, work within various intervention frameworks, and provide direct supervision to Program Implementers. You will be guided by Clinical Leaders and an Autism Advanced Practice Leader.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate goal-setting processes with families and provide assessment related to identified needs
- Develop, implement, and coordinate intervention programs
- Contribute to family education and work within various intervention frameworks
- Provide direct supervision to Program Implementers
- Collaborate with Clinical Leaders and an Autism Advanced Practice Leader
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Board-certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia
- Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle
- CPR certification within the last 12 months and certification in First Aid
- Two years' recent experience working with children with autism (ages 0-6 years old) and their families
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for children with autism
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and ability to provide assessment and development, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of intervention plans
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interprofessional collaborative practice framework and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
