Bulk Petroleum Operations Driver

Looking for a career in Bulk Petroleum Operations? Otter Co-op is hiring a Commercial Truck Driver for our Bulk Petroleum Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for hauling bulk petroleum products to customer locations within BC, filling equipment, generators and fuel tanks in pits at customer locations, and following all loading and unloading procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Hauling bulk petroleum products to customer locations within BC
  2. Filling equipment, generators and fuel tanks in pits at customer locations
  3. Following all loading and unloading procedures
  4. Complete all pre and post trip inspections daily, communicating when any repairs are required
  5. Confirm the nature of each delivery and any special considerations prior to leaving
  6. Maintain positive working relationships and communicate regularly with Dispatch/Office Staff
  7. Ensure all commercial driving regulations and safety protocols are followed
  8. Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
  9. Contribute to the team in living the corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  10. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  1. Valid Class 3 drivers licence with air brakes endorsement required
  2. 3+ years verifiable commercial driving experience preferred
  3. Training at an approved driver training school is preferred
  4. Must have a clean driver's abstract (to be updated annually)
  5. General understanding of agriculture business and/or farming background an asset
  6. Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
  7. Motivation and ability to work under pressure and in a busy work environment is required
  8. Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  9. Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
  10. Must have open availability to work a variety of shifts, which will include early mornings, days and weekends.
