Food Services Department Lead

Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Food Services is a key role within our Food Services department at Canuck Place Children's Hospice. This position is responsible for supervising staff, overseeing the operations of the Food Services department, and supporting management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and oversee the daily operations of the Food Services department
- Collaborate with the Manager, Support Services to ensure efficient workflows and quality meal service
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and food safety standards
- Participate in scheduling and hiring of staff
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve services and satisfaction
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily operations
Requirements
- Post-secondary education and/or a minimum of 3 years of related management experience
- Valid Food Safe level 1 certificate required
- Experience in a healthcare or non-profit environment is an asset
- Strong supervisory skills, capable of motivating, leading, and developing teams
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
