Machinist / MIG Welder Job Description

At Kaayu Technologies, we are seeking a skilled Machinist / MIG Welder to work on a wide range of projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for machining and welding, with experience in operating conventional machine tools and performing high-quality MIG welds.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate Conventional Machine Tools: The successful candidate will operate lathe, milling machine, and other conventional machine tools with precision and efficiency.
2. Perform MIG Welds: With attention to detail and a focus on quality, the Machinist / MIG Welder will perform high-quality MIG welds on steel and aluminum parts.
3. Read and Interpret Technical Plans: The candidate will read and interpret technical plans, drawings, and specifications to produce parts that meet requirements.
4. Quality Control: The Machinist / MIG Welder will perform quality checks on machined and welded parts to ensure a high standard of production.
5. Sheet Metal Cutting and Bending: Experience with sheet metal cutting machines and bending is an asset for this role.
6. Maintenance and Repair: The successful candidate will participate in preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment to ensure its proper functioning.
7. Teamwork and Communication: The Machinist / MIG Welder will work closely with the team to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues.

Requirements:

1. Education and Training: A diploma or relevant training in machining and/or welding is required.
2. Experience: Significant experience in MIG welding (steel and aluminum) is essential for this role.
3. Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of conventional machines and the ability to work independently while being a good team player are required.
4. Attention to Detail: The Machinist / MIG Welder must have attention to detail and meet production deadlines.
