Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health and addiction issues, as well as knowledge of applicable legislation and available programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the nursing process to provide high-quality care to patients with mental health and addiction issues.
  • Work collaboratively with an inter-professional team to deliver care and treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, and develop effective care plans.
  • Operate a personal computer with various software applications.
Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a degree in nursing and a valid BC Driver's License. A minimum of two years of recent experience in mental health nursing is required, as well as a strong understanding of mental health and addiction issues.
