School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is seeking a skilled Heating/Refrigeration Technician to join our facilities maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair heating and cooling equipment and associated controls in accordance with local codes and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure seamless operation of facilities.
- Order necessary supplies and equipment, and make recommendations on purchases.
- Grade 12 supplemented by full qualifications at the Journeyman level and appropriate restricted Electrical Worker's certificate and Gas certificate.
- Valid Interprovincial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic TQ certificate, plus five years proven previous work experience in the heating/refrigeration field after designation.
- Valid B.C. Driver's License.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to various school sites. The ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights is essential.
