Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Kitimat General Hospital. As a Functional Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community-based environments.

We offer a comprehensive benefit package, including extended health/dental benefits and a municipal pension plan for part-time and full-time employees. Casuals have the option of paying for benefits. Additionally, we provide four weeks of vacation with one year of continuous service and financial support for moving expenses is available for eligible positions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience in assessment, treatment planning, and implementation. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of guidelines and procedures, participate in quality assurance initiatives, and engage in ongoing professional development. You will also have opportunities to teach clients and others, both one-on-one and in groups, and promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation
  • Contributing to the development of guidelines and procedures
  • Participating in quality assurance initiatives
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development
  • Taught clients and others, both one-on-one and in groups

Salary: $83,366.35 annually (based on a 37.5-hour workweek), plus comprehensive benefits.
