The successful candidate will provide high-quality Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing care to adult inpatient Psychiatry patients. This role involves medication administration, delivering patient care to individuals with complex mental health needs, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized care to adult inpatient Psychiatry patients, including medication administration and behavioral observations
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient response to pharmaceutical care interventions and document progress
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance psychiatric nursing skills
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- CPI certification
- Psychiatric nursing certification in progress
- 1 year minimum acute adult mental health experience
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and psychiatric nursing principles
- Excellent assessment and crisis intervention, communication, and interpersonal skills
