Carpentry Apprentice

Position Overview

The Carpenter - Apprentice will work under the Divisional Production Manager within our restoration division. This role aims to obtain Journeyman/Red Seal certification, possessing a solid foundation in carpentry fundamentals, applicable in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrate safe operation of hand and power tools, including temporary generators, ladders, table saws, routers, and sanding equipment.
• Assemble and dismantle scaffolding as required.
• Assist with demolition, debris disposal, and material preparation.
• Familiarize with material take-offs, blueprint reading, and poly containment setup.
• Acquire basic to intermediate experience in insulation installation, vapour barrier application, wood, and steel stud framing, and finish carpentry skills.
• Secure exterior building materials, roofing, and siding, and assist with partition construction.
• Maintain a safe worksite through good housekeeping practices and attend all sponsored training courses.

Qualifications
• Enrolled in a trade school program, working towards Journeyman/Red Seal certification.
• 1+ year experience in construction, restoration, or insurance preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles, and practices.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle per Belfor's vehicle policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
