About the Role
Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Counsellor to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide comprehensive clinical counselling and therapy to clients affected by mental illness and/or addictions.

In this role, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess client needs, develop shared care plans, and provide follow-up support. Your expertise in crisis counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, and brief/short-term therapy skills will be invaluable in supporting clients through challenging times.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care and has a strong commitment to teamwork. If you have a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, and at least two years of experience in community and/or hospital settings, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical counselling and psychotherapy to clients affected by mental illness and/or addictions
- Assess client needs and develop shared care plans
- Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide follow-up support and monitor treatment outcomes
- Utilize a variety of clinically sound psychotherapeutic techniques, including crisis counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy

Requirements
- Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited educational institution
- At least two years of recent related experience in community and/or hospital settings providing programs for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
- Comprehensive knowledge of mental health psychiatric assessment skills, crisis intervention techniques, de-escalation techniques, brief/short-term therapy skills and interventions, abnormal psychology, general counselling theory/principles, DSM IV multi-axial diagnosis, community response procedures, community resource utilization, and knowledge of psycho-pharmacology used in psychiatric treatment
- Demonstrated ability to network with other services and agencies and work on interdisciplinary teams
