Job Description:We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre. As a member of our healthcare team, you will assist in providing exceptional client service, coordinate patient care, and maintain accurate medical records.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clinicians with surgical procedures, monitoring patient vital signs, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Providing technical support and guidance to veterinary students, faculty, and staff.
- Maintaining a varied patient base, including companion and large animals, and assisting with activities related to anesthesia, intensive care, diagnostic imaging, and more.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A 2-year college diploma in Veterinary Technology or a related field.
- Full membership in good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT).
- Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician Examination (VTNE) and OAVT mandatory ethics exam.
- One year of prior experience working as an RVT, with demonstrated proficiency in customer service and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Hospital Management Information System software is preferred.
This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $28.00-$31.29 per hour and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
The successful applicant will be required to provide proof of rabies titre and meet the requirements for OAVT registration.
