About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Azure SQL Database Administrator to join our team at CloudVital. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining critical SQL Server RDBMS systems on Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, configure, maintain, administer, and tune performance of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database.
- Provide database space calculations for supported database environments.
- Design and write data loading and/or conversion scripts/stored procedures.
- Build and test database backup/recovery scripts.
- Develop and implement database automation scripts.
- Prepare database changes in DACPAC and develop Azure CI/CD release pipelines to promote DACPAC.
- Promote database changes through Development, Integration Testing, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Perform database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning, and other related tasks.
- Document and resolve any database problems/issues.
Requirements:
- Expert experience with planning, configuring, maintenance, administration, performance tuning of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database.
- Experience with SQL server stored procedure development.
- Expertise in Azure build automation using Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and VSTS.
- Strong understanding of Git for source code version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure technologies, including storage account, file share, Azure key vault, Azure portal, and Azure monitoring tools.
- Experience with CI/CD release pipeline.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Oracle databases, including administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning, and OEM.
Benefits:
The salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000-$150,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
