About the Role:

As an Early Career Hydrogeologist, you will join our dynamic Earth Sciences team, collaborating with hydrogeologists, geochemists, ecologists, and other specialists on diverse projects. You will contribute to a wide range of environmental assessments, site remediation efforts, and water resource management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute hydrogeological field investigations, including drilling, test pitting, and monitoring well installation.
  • Install, monitor, and assess wetland mini-piezometers, staff gauges, and dataloggers.
  • Conduct site-wide and feature-based water budget assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports and enter data accurately.
  • Design and implement groundwater field sampling and testing programs.
  • Perform hydrogeological assessments for infrastructure and land development projects.
  • Conduct aquifer testing (slug tests and pumping tests).
  • Collaborate effectively with the project team and communicate clearly.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in a similar hydrogeological role within the environmental services industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental site assessment, site remediation, and hydrogeology (water resource management, groundwater chemistry, aquifer development, and surface water-groundwater interactions).
  • Working understanding of provincial, local, and industry-specific regulations and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of conceptual hydrogeologic models that consider aquifer characteristics, groundwater quality and geochemistry, and overall water balance at both the local and regional scale.
  • Undergraduate degree in environmental engineering or geosciences. A Master's degree in hydrogeology or equivalent is preferred.
  • Eligibility for or designation with PGO or PEO is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
