Job Description

The Electrical Sales and Procurement Specialist reports to the Business Centre Manager and is responsible for providing accurate quotations to key contractors and collaborating with our main suppliers on significant projects. The incumbent should be skilled at achieving acceptable margins during the project through change orders and negotiations with key suppliers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Projects team and Sales Representatives;
  • Manage all aspects of customer purchase orders, including communication, documentation, coordination of material supply and delivery, and invoicing;
  • Monitor and track project progress, handling issues as they arise;
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed;
  • Liaise with customers to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives;
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner;
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external communication within the project team;
  • Negotiate pricing and sales terms with vendors based on criteria provided by their manager;
  • Take necessary action to resolve customer service issues promptly; follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction;
  • Maintain technical knowledge on product lines;
  • Develop, grow, and maintain long-term customer relationships;
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace;
Requirements:
  • Minimum grade 12 education;
  • Five (5) years' experience in a similar position is an asset;
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Good negotiation skills;
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills;
  • Understanding of vendor relationships;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • High flexibility with strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Team player with a positive professional attitude and manner;
  • Self-motivated with a desire to improve business skills;
  • Knowledge of the electrical distribution sales model is an asset;
  • Familiarity with price sheets and matrices is an asset;
