Shift: Monday to Friday (5x2), 8 hours/day
Location: Sparwood, BC
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all standards, processes, specifications, codes, and regulations are met for overall customer satisfaction. This includes coordinating and maintaining the Komatsu Canada Quality Control program and manuals, conducting inspections, and performing audits.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of individual scope of work in progress and at completion to identify and resolve repetitive rework and determine root cause.
  3. Perform UT and Mag Particle inspections of rebuild components, including professional reporting of the findings.
  4. Develop and implement audits for machine and component rebuilds to ensure quality control standards are met.
  5. Responsible for quality control inspection for machine overhauls, including labeling, inspecting, and final reporting.
  6. Coordinate, compile, and file all documents from various projects and ensure that all requirements of the Quality Control program are completed in a timely manner.
  7. Coordinate document and quality control to ensure quality assurance goals are maintained.
  8. Assist in determining processes and process improvement to enhance quality control.
  9. Execute the inspection and signoff of projects and worksheets.
  10. Document processes to ensure overall project consistency.
  11. Maintain relationships with third-party inspectors.
  12. Control all welder records and logs and verify welding is completed as per approved procedures.
  13. Provide quality control updates at production meetings as required.
  14. Comply with standards and procedures of the Komatsu Health and Safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Journeyman Trade certificate or equivalent experience with practical knowledge of supervising welding/fitting operations.
  2. Knowledge of NDT methods.
  3. Possesses the ability to interpret engineering specifications.
  4. Ability to provide accuracy and detail in projects and reports.
  5. Possesses intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Office.
  6. SAP knowledge is considered an asset.
  7. Ability to work effectively with team members and yet be independent and self-reliant when completing tasks.
  8. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  9. Demonstrates initiative and is a proactive problem solver.
  10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  11. Demonstrates efficient organizational skills and the ability to thrive well in a deadline-oriented environment.
  12. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.
  13. A valid driver's license is required.
