About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Canada. As a Software Developer, you will be working on mission critical software for the control and analytics of Uncrewed Vehicles and Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop reliable, mission critical, cross platform software using test driven development
  • Engineer solutions that provide optimal user experience
  • Participate in agile practices like estimation meetings, retrospectives, standups, etc.
  • Develop, maintain and document the architecture of the solution
  • Contribute to documentation, delivery, and deployment of the solution
  • Assist our customer experience team with development support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Experience with C++ programming language
  • User Interface & user experience design experience and/or database/domain/service design experience
  • Passionate about high-quality end-user experiences
  • Software development experience on Linux and Microsoft Windows
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the Uncrewed Vehicle (UV) domain
  • Experience with Android development
  • Experience with ArduPilot auto pilot and/or Mavlink vehicle communications protocol
  • Experience with STANAG-4586 vehicle communications protocol
  • Experience with development and testing of Artificial Intelligence software
  • Experience with Computer Vision software solutions

This position is part of the Lockheed Martin's Aeronautics - Advanced Development Programs team, also known as "Skunk Works", specializing in the development and licensing of vehicle control station software for unmanned systems.
