About the Role

This is a key position that requires a seasoned accounting professional with expertise in property accounting and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable and payable, as well as other financial accounts, to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Taxation: Prepare and review property tax billings, GST and other legislated taxes, to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
  • Leasing and Disposition Fees: Ensure timely and accurate processing of leasing and disposition fees, including CAM/tax recoveries adjustments.
  • Accounting Processes and Procedures: Continuously monitor and review accounting processes and procedures to recommend changes and improve internal controls and efficiencies.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: University or college degree and enrolled in 3rd or 4th level of a Professional Accounting designation (CGA, CMA).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years accounting experience, preferably in property accounting, and working knowledge of Real Estate/Property Management Software (Yardi preferred).
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
