Cloud FinOps Strategist

As a key member of our Cloud Operations team, the Cloud FinOps Specialist will play a pivotal role in establishing a culture of financial accountability by developing and implementing best practices that optimize spend and usage, maximizing value from our cloud investments while minimizing unnecessary costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide application and product teams with targeted recommendations on how to optimize their cloud spend, ensuring they are equipped to make data-driven decisions.
- Continuously monitor and report on cloud usage against budget and forecast, detecting anomalies and unplanned spikes to inform corrective action.
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and Finance teams to implement accurate cost tracking and reporting through proper resource tagging and allocation.
- Develop automated data pipelines, visualizations, metrics, and dashboards to provide real-time insights on cloud consumption trends, facilitating informed decision-making within FinOps and application/development teams.
- Support the Finance team with reporting on cloud consumption trends and costs.
Requirements:
- 5 years or more experience in Cloud service management.
- Proven experience managing and leading Cloud FinOps practices, including cost management optimization, FinOps practice improvement, and FinOps persona collaboration.
- Hands-on experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and GCP.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and make an impact in a cross-functional environment.
- Bachelor's degree in software development or computer engineering required, or equivalent work experience.
