About the Job


We are seeking a Store Associate to join our team at Giant Tiger in Thunder Bay. As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a safe and organized store environment, and supporting store operations.


Key Responsibilities



  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the checkout area and sales floor
  • Support store operations, including receiving merchandise, restocking shelves, and performing cycle counts
  • Follow health and safety policies and guidelines, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals and promote a positive store atmosphere

Requirements



  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on adaptability and flexibility
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and precision in daily tasks
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues

Working Conditions


The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, twisting, and squatting, lifting up to 18 kg (40 lbs), and performing repetitive tasks. The ability to operate equipment, including using a ladder, is also required. A typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends, with a schedule of 35-40 hours weekly.
