We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at ONTOP DRYWALL & FRAME LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for framing and constructing buildings, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with building codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.

Prepare Layouts

The candidate will prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy.

Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials

The successful candidate will measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Construct Buildings

The candidate will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Install Finishing Touches

The successful candidate will fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.

Work in a Variety of Environments

The candidate will work in various locations, including outdoors, and will be exposed to noisy and dusty environments.

Meet Physical Demands

The successful candidate will be physically demanding and will require the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights.

Work Safely

The candidate will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots and will be expected to work safely at all times.

Work as a Team Player

The successful candidate will be a team player and will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the team.

Meet Client Expectations

The candidate will be expected to meet client expectations and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements
  • Education

The successful candidate will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

The candidate will have 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the trade.

Language

The successful candidate will be fluent in English.

Work Hours

The candidate will work 35 to 40 hours per week.
