Staff Accountant - Public Accounting

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our client, a reputable public accounting and financial planning firm in Oakville. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in preparing financial statements and corporate tax returns for a variety of businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements and corporate tax returns for clients
  • File various tax returns, including T1, T2, T3, HST, T5013, and T5018
  • Compile Notice to Reader financial statements, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and regulations
  • Stay up-to-date with current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and enhance tax strategies for clients
  • Act as a primary liaison for clients, addressing inquiries and delivering exceptional client service
  • Assist clients in understanding their financial statements and tax responsibilities
  • Aid the accounting team with diverse administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
  • College or University Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in public accounting, financial statement, and tax preparation (corporate and personal), working with Canadian-Controlled Private Corporations
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Direct experience with Caseware, QBO, and ifirm is a strong asset
  • Completion of in-depth tax courses such as MTAX, or extensive tax-focused work is a strong asset
