Opportunity Overview

As a key member of the Group Risk Management team at Royal Bank of Canada, the Associate Director, Regulatory Governance, will serve as a central point of contact for achieving common outputs. This role requires developing forward-looking plans to manage annual and ad hoc regulatory and/or agency requests. The ideal candidate will identify stakeholders, coordinate responses, and ensure consistency in messaging.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Process Execution
  • Project manage regulatory requests through the development of forward-looking plans, including identification of stakeholders, and coordination of responses across the team.
  • Create and maintain documentation to satisfy regulatory requests, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
  • Ensure consistency in response and messaging, validating with management as required.
  • Work with the project manager to execute action plans to remediate material risk assessments and issues.
  • Engage stakeholders and owners to fully remediate material risk assessments and issues.

Reporting and Other Activities

Support internal processes, including the production of team reports, and execute short and long-range projects affecting the Group Risk Management team or individual teams.

Relationship Management

  • Develop relationships and networks within the Group Risk Management team and Royal Bank of Canada to influence and impact processes.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other groups as required.

Requirements

  • Business degree or equivalent
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working in a technology function
  • Maturity level and skill/judgment to deal effectively with senior levels within Royal Bank of Canada
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Good impact and influence skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, research, and quantitative skills
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret information covering a wide range of business areas
