Job Title: Stone Carver

Artistic Stone Carving Ltd is seeking a skilled Stone Carver to join our team. As a Stone Carver, you will be responsible for cutting and shaping stone blocks to precise dimensions using various machines and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions
  • Move products using forklift, crane or hydraulic hoist
  • Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish
  • Operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in monumental stone
  • Perform ongoing machine adjustments
  • Read blueprint, schemas and drawings
  • Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications
Work Environment:

The work environment is noisy and dusty, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Handling heavy loads
  • Manual dexterity
  • Attention to detail
  • Hand-eye co-ordination
  • Standing for extended periods
  • More than 45 kg (100 lbs)
