We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Western Canada. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects by providing expert support in project metrics, budgeting, and resource management.
Key Responsibilities- Project Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor project-specific budgets, cash flow projections, and forecasts to ensure accurate financial planning and reporting.
- Project Support: Provide administrative support to project managers, including project billing reports, client invoicing, budget tracking, and other related tasks.
- Resource Management: Evaluate and update data regarding resource requirements, deliverables, and earned value reports to ensure optimal project resource allocation.
- Technical Support: Assist technical teams with tasks related to proposal/contract setup documents, document controls, clerical reviews, and other technical documentation.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize basic web-based and desktop software to process work orders, data entry, data visualization, and other related tasks.
- Clerical Support: Provide clerical support in developing technical documents, including reports, presentations, exhibits, drawings, tables, and other related materials.
- Coordination and Liaison: Coordinate and liaise with contractors, vendors, sub-consultants, and field crews to ensure smooth project execution.
- Purchasing and Procurement: Assist with purchasing/procurement coordination and confer with project managers to determine project details, such as plan preparation, project implementation, and scheduling.
- Meeting Coordination: Arrange, coordinate, and facilitate meetings with team members and project managers to ensure effective project communication.
- Proposal and Bid Support: Create, track, and format submissions, proposals, and bids to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
- Professional Standards: Adhere to professional standards, ethics, and quality procedures to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Possess good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and good record-keeping skills to ensure accurate project data and reporting.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought to drive project success.
- Time Management and Adaptability: Possess strong time management skills with the ability to adapt to different situations and organize priorities independently.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or Business/Finance.
- Experience: 6 years of related project controls, project coordination/management experience.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working with engineering or other professional services preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
