The Digital Specialist will be responsible for building core discipline and data products/projects. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset to develop advanced analytics products that generate value for LNG Canada.
This role will involve co-creating and validating AI, ML, and LLM models to automate and enhance prediction and anomaly detection capabilities. The Digital Specialist will work with Discipline Engineers and Advanced Analytics Specialists to drive detailed data analysis and analytics of the LNG Production Systems.
The main objective is to produce fit-for-purpose detection and predictive processes that drive proactive action in the field, avoiding unplanned downtime and undesired operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop analytics driven solutions and products
- Work in a cross-functional team to develop analytic models for condition-based monitoring, anomaly detection, remaining useful life, and materials forecasting
- Be involved in the whole process of model development, from root cause analysis to training, validating, and implementing machine learning models
- Work with stakeholders to identify and explore new avenues in Technology & Production towards predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Demonstrate collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Process, Chemical, or Rotating); Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related field
- 2-3 years of analytics development experience
- Discipline experience required – Process or Rotating equipment engineering
- Knowledge in building AI/ML models across Energy & Reliability solutions
- Knowledge in the use of Python/R and/or other analytic software tools or languages
- Knowledge in data cleansing, data quality assessment, and feature engineering
- Knowledge in statistics and statistical model development
- Experience with verification and deployment of analytics driven solutions and products
- Demonstrated skill in presentation and influencing
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skill at working in a global team setting
LNG Canada is a joint venture comprised of Shell Canada Energy and affiliates of Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Korea Gas Corporation. The joint venture is building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.
