The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Role

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will perform high-quality ultrasound studies for pediatric, obstetrical, and gynecological patients under the direction of a Radiologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound studies using accepted protocols
  • Discuss exams with Radiologists using PACS, video, and recorded information
  • Maintain accurate patient files and records
  • Practice good patient care and maintain a professional attitude
Requirements
  • Registered with Sonography Canada, including Ob/Gyn and Abdomen
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with NSCMIRTP
  • Continued medical education credits (CME) every three years
  • Registry in Neurosonography is preferred
  • Experience in obstetrics, pediatrics, and neurosonography is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competencies in other languages, French preferred
