Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator I is a key role in our warehouse operations, responsible for safely operating powered material handling equipment to receive, store, and fulfill orders. This position requires attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate basic powered material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts, to move products throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and safety of all transactions.
  • Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, by hand or equipment.
  • Sort and build product to pallets to meet customer expectations.
  • Use machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets.
  • Perform pre- and post-equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain accurate storage locations through daily cycle counts and inventory maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate powered material handling equipment.
  • Must meet all PPE and fall protection requirements.
  • Ability to work at extended heights.
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Strong team player.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
  • Must possess visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift or carry items less than 60 pounds.

FedEx Supply Chain offers competitive hourly rates depending on your location and experience. Pay range: $16.06 (min) - $27.02 (max) hourly.
