Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for supporting factory needs in regards to all equipment, aiming to achieve plan and improve on process efficiency and performance. This role will actively manage troubleshooting and preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability, reduce unplanned stoppages, and decrease energy and water usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance to health, food safety, and regulatory requirements of all products manufactured.
  2. Ensure the working areas and installations in the factory comply with and operate according to the standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  3. Maintain plant assets and equipment to enable 24/7 operation.
  4. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production packaging equipment.
  5. Complete all scheduled Preventative, Predictive, and Planned maintenance activities.
  6. Analyze failures to prevent re-occurrence, including creating new PM standards.
  7. Accurately and timely enter work order data into SAP work order management program.
  8. Maintain and improve maintenance shop standards.
  9. Respond to breakdown calls as needed.


Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • Experience in Food Processing or Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with PLC, and VFD programming
  • Welding and fabricating experience
  • Machining equipment experience; Lathe and milling machine
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Experience with CMMS & Process Software such as SAP
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be self-managed and organized
  • Possess analytical skills and capacity to gather & evaluate large quantities of data
  • Strong work ethic, able to maintain high standard over long periods of repetitive work
  • Strong leadership skills, able to work alone or part of a team
