Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Director to join our team in Langley, BC.
About the Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Salary and Benefits: The salary for this role is $150K-200K (DOE) plus bonus and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all group accounting and financial functions related to internal and external financial reporting.
- Manage FP&A, accurately plan, forecast, and budget to support the company's major business decisions and long-term financial health.
- Review and analyze monthly and year financials, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation, rules, and regulations related to financial disclosure.
- Create, review, and implement policies and procedures to identify, resolve, improve, and document internal controls over safeguarding of assets, financial close, and reporting processes.
- Prepare a range of financial reports, including trends, statements, summaries, and cost/benefit analyses for executives and board of directors.
- Coordinate with external partners, including financial institutions, CRA, legal counsel, and external auditors, to deal with audits, transfer payment issues, income tax, and sales tax regulations in various jurisdictions.
- Coordinate and ensure the completion of the annual external audit efficiently and effectively.
- Coordinate quarterly, annual, and forecasted income tax projections and provisions, review of annual income tax returns.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Japanese (both spoken and written) preferred.
- A CPA designation and 7+ years of experience in a similar position.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian finance, tax, and employment principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate, and mentor as well as handle discipline and terminations issues.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relations with all members of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in construction/project accounting and manufacturing environments.
- US GAAP and US state sales tax knowledge an asset.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Business Central) and implementation an asset.
