Professor of Gerontology at Langara College.

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor to join our Social Services Department. The successful candidate will teach GERO 1215: Communication Skills with Older Adults II, to students in the Gerontology program.

• Develop and deliver curriculum for GERO 1215.
• Maintain office hours and be available to consult with students.
• Evaluate student performance.
• Attend meetings both internally within the College and externally in the community.
• In the case of a continuing appointment, perform additional departmental and college duties.

• Master's degree in Social Work or relevant field.
• Eligible for Registration with the College of Social Workers of BC.
• Demonstrated expertise in Gerontology.
• Minimum 5 years post-Masters experience in social work practice.
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience in public post-secondary institutions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Relevant involvement in the community.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Basic computer literacy.

The salary range for this position is $45.88 - $142.49 per hour. Salary placement will be on Langara instructors' salary scale based on qualifications and experience.
