Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, including trunking systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Cable Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers, as well as defective telephone equipment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments, ensuring seamless project execution.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a variety of settings, including installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment.
  • Physical Demands: Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures, requiring a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program in a related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, with a focus on telecommunications installation and maintenance.
  • Language: Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Work Schedule: 32 hours per week, with a regular schedule and opportunities for overtime.
