About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC - K03. As a Senior Cloud Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for leading teams of exceptional software engineers to tackle some of the hardest problems at global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead teams of software engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable, fault-tolerant production systems on AWS Lambda.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive engineering best practices and ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in cloud computing, software development, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them grow in their careers.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
