What We're Looking For  

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications.

As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing new features to improving existing ones. You'll collaborate with our team leads, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java/C#, Spring Boot, React, and other modern technologies

  • Implement front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React

  • Creation and management of microservices

  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests via TDD

  • Optimize the stack for performance, security, and scalability within new projects and existing code

  • Contribute to component library to ensure robust component-based framework

  • Design, develop & maintain web applications with OOP

  • Decision making, logic and reasoning- Understanding of front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React

  • Creation of back-end services using RESTful APIs, microservices, etc

  • A TDD mindset to write unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests

  • Work with our DevOps team to improve our CI/CD pipeline

  • Able to interpret business requirements and translate into technical outcomes

  • Optimize the stack for performance, security, and scalability within new projects and existing code

  • Follow best practices and coding standards

  • Document code and functionality

  • Contribute to component library to ensure robust component-based framework

  • Contribute to creation and sustaining measurable and actionable development KPIs

  • Lead a team of developers, conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and ensure the quality and delivery of the projects

  • Collaborate with team leads, project managers, and stakeholders in an agile environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or commensurate work experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer or similar role

  • Proven experience with strongly-typed OOP back end programming, its associated concepts and patterns

  • Must have worked with React to integrate back end

  • Development tools such as Maven, NuGet, etc.

  • Relational and non-relational databases such as PostGres, MongoDB, etc.

  • Experience with Git as a version control tool and  a branching methodology GitFlow

  • Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc.

  • Experience with developing net new microservices

  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins

  • Containerization knowledge such as Docker, Kubernetes preferred

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Experience with Angular, Node, Typescript preferred

  • Ability to write/use tooling to facilitate/streamline their work preferred
