We are seeking a skilled Director of Development to join our team at Focus on the Family Canada. As a key member of our Development department, you will be responsible for establishing and building strong relationships with major donors in British Columbia, effectively communicating the work and impact of our ministry to current and potential donors.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Development: Establish and build strong relationships with qualified donors through various communication methods, solicit donations, and provide timely updates on how donations have been used.
- Donor Cultivation: Identify and initiate contact with potential major donors, qualify potential donors, and integrate new donors as they demonstrate a financial partnership with Focus.
- Donor Management and Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor files, manage progress reporting deadlines, and ensure timely response to donor requests.
- Accountability: Provide regular reports to the Vice President on progress, budgets, receipts, and expenditure related to activities managed.
We are looking for a professional with significant experience in fundraising or sales, proven experience in public relations, communications, or marketing, and at least 3-5 years of non-profit organization experience. A post-secondary education or professional training in non-profits, fundraising, sales, or marketing is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to relate well to others, and strong organizational skills.
