About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at Interfor. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and supervision of our mill equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Direct and manage a team of maintenance personnel to ensure the effective maintenance of mill equipment.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance technicians to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
    • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that downtime is minimized.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Safety and Environmental Management
    • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Monitor and report on safety performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all mill equipment to ensure that it is in good working condition.
    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, including metrics on equipment uptime, downtime, and maintenance costs.
    • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as industrial engineering or mechanical engineering.
    • 5-7 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in a heavy industry setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
    • Knowledge of maintenance management systems and software.
    • Experience with project management and budgeting.
