Job Description

We are currently looking for a skilled Physiotherapy Care Specialist to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group in L'Original, Ontario. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of the Physiotherapist, this individual will be responsible for assisting residents in implementing treatment programs and achieving their goals.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-on-one exercises with the assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
  • Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist's instructions.
  • Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
  • Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
  • Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
Requirements:

This position requires a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent, excellent multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Strong communication skills are also necessary to effectively interact with elderly residents, supervisors, and teammates.

  • Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.

  • Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
  • Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be a definite asset.
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
  • Valid 2 STEP TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with Valid Drivers License is required.
  • We require candidates to be residents of Ottawa/L'Original Area.

The estimated salary range for this position is approximately $$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a temporary position, and we require a long-term commitment from successful candidates.
