Part-Time Nursing Faculty Position

This part-time faculty position at the School of Nursing is seeking a qualified individual to teach pre-nursing and undergraduate nursing courses. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Nursing and clinical experience in an advanced practice nursing role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students in Medical Terminology, Mental Health, Community Health, Health Assessment, Pharmacology, Senior Seminar, and Bridge to Professional Nursing. They will also participate in SON and UVI governance activities, program development, and assure continued ACEN Accreditation.
A Doctorate in Nursing or a related field with Certification as a Nurse Educator and/or Nurse Practitioner is preferred. Previous experience in collegiate teaching, familiarity with ACEN accreditation processes, QSEN, and the AACN essential competencies are also desired.
The ability to initiate or continue a research program and other scholarly activities is an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach pre-nursing and undergraduate nursing courses
- Participate in SON and UVI governance activities
- Assure continued ACEN Accreditation
- Develop and implement curriculum
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Clinical experience in an advanced practice nursing role
- Current licensure to practice and eligibility for licensure in the USVI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Nursing or a related field
- Certification as a Nurse Educator and/or Nurse Practitioner
- Previous experience in collegiate teaching
- Familiarity with ACEN accreditation processes
- QSEN and AACN essential competencies
