Job Description

The Food Prep Worker Lead is a crucial role in the food preparation team, responsible for assisting cooks, chefs, or food service managers in preparing ingredients for recipes and performing other food preparation and service tasks. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the work of others, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation.
  • Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes, adhering to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment, ensuring a smooth and efficient food preparation process.
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items, using a variety of utensils including knives.
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines, ensuring presentation and quality meet company standards.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure security of company assets and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in food prep or food service-related work is preferred.
  • Knowledge of various food prep methods, accurate knife handling, and food safety regulations is preferred.
  • Exercise considerable judgment based on previous experience to solve problems and make sound decisions.
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification and maintain it throughout employment.
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This role may require physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.

Pay Rate: $25.00
