Job Summary:

The Material Handler Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials and supplies within our production environment at Altium Packaging Canada, Inc. This key position requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

As a Material Handler Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to designated staging areas. Your attention to quality control and adherence to safety protocols will be crucial in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, as well as applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
- Operate a forklift to unload inbound and outbound shipments with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct regular visual inspections of materials to report any discrepancies in quality, thus maintaining the highest standards of product excellence.
- Prepare materials for the grinding process by adhering to established procedures.
- Transport and store materials, finished products, and supplies to their designated staging areas while keeping accurate records of their locations for proper labeling.
- Efficiently transport scrapped materials from the production line to the grinder area, ensuring minimal waste and maximum productivity.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the ramp, dock, and compactor area, promoting a safe and organized workspace.
- Perform other duties assigned by management, showcasing adaptability and a commitment to teamwork.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping in your assigned work area, disposing of scrap material properly and contributing to a positive work environment.

Requirements:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required for this role.
- The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Proficiency in operating a forklift and adherence to safety guidelines are essential for success in this position.
