Petro Canada Lubricants Inc, an HF Sinclair company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join its team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Planning & Scheduling, this role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, effective and efficient work execution.

Job Overview

The initial scope of work is identified by cross-functional teams, but as a Maintenance Planner, you will utilize your expertise to find opportunities to complete comprehensive scopes of work that enable expected equipment reliability performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop gross estimates for work requests to inform budgeting and decision-making processes.
  • Process approved work requests based on priority and risk rank, verifying they can be planned effectively and are environmentally and health-safety conscious.
  • Prepare structured job plans from approved work requests, including operation steps, duration, resources, documentation, and planned cost.
  • Release completed work orders to the scheduling team with initial dates based on material and services availability.
  • Review and release unreleased program job plans.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve task lists.
  • Identify and initiate changes required to master data.
  • Solicit feedback on job plans, including in-progress and completed work.
  • Provide support to reliability in building and optimizing program job plans and supply chain in creating and maintaining material and service masters.

This role may involve special assignments or tasks assigned by the supervisor, as determined in their sole discretion.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with five or more years of related refinery maintenance or operations experience, preferably in maintenance planning.

A trade certificate (Steamfitter), diploma, or degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) is required.

Essential Skills
  • Ability to understand engineered drawings/engineering specifications.
  • Knowledge of Heat Exchangers, Towers, Drums, and Boilers.
  • Knowledge of piping fabrication, P&ID's, ITP's, and PWHT.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in SAP (advanced), Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of P6 Primavera for scheduling outages.
  • Supervisory knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve best results and deliver maximum value.
Work Environment
  • This role involves working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • 80% office time, 20% plant time, with potential for machine problem investigations and process/equipment troubleshooting.
