Senior Manager, Aircraft Lifecycle Accounting Professional

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Aircraft Lifecycle Accounting to join our team. This role will be based in either Richmond, BC, Canada, or Aberdeen, UK, and will oversee the accounting for a global leader in the vertical aviation industry. The successful candidate will work closely with all areas of accounting and finance, liaising with divisions to provide guidance on proper accounting treatment for expenditures and other departments requesting information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with divisions to provide guidance on proper accounting treatment for expenditures.
- Collaborate with departments to provide reporting information.
- Work according to guidance standards for:
- Property, plant, equipment, and other assets.
- Accounting for Internal Use Software.
- Airline Accounting Guide.
- Sale lease back accounting Guide.
- Non Aircraft Leasing accounting treatment (IFRS & US GAAP).
- Prepare and amend memos and policies as required.
- Review and prepare monthly cash flow and capex reports, gain/loss analysis, monthly/quarterly/annual variance analysis, note disclosures, monthly reconciliations, fixed asset suspense accounts, and journal entries postings.
- Assist with audit requirements for note disclosures, management reporting, and fixed asset narrative.
- Contribute towards process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- At least 5-10 years of experience in Fixed Asset Accounting, preferably in an international environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance-related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- International organization experience preferred.
- Experience using large ERP systems required.
- Highly self-motivated and exceptional team player.
- Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced and diverse workflow.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, specifically MS Excel and MS Word.
