At Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, we are seeking a skilled Forensic Psychologist to join our dynamic team at Selkirk Mental Health Centre (SMHC).

Salary: The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of approximately $52.84 per hour, with the potential for an annual forensic specialist top-up of up to $60K.

Job Description

The Forensic Psychologist will provide assessment and treatment for patients found Not Criminally Responsible on account of mental disorder (NCR) and Unfit to Stand Trial who are under the jurisdiction of Manitoba's Criminal Code Review Board (CCRB). This includes violence risk assessments and annual updates for CCRB disposition hearings. The Psychologist will also provide consultation to the multidisciplinary team, inpatient staff, and individual and group-based treatment for mental health concerns and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and cognitive assessments with adults.
  • Administer and interpret standard psychological tests and measures.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological treatments for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
Requirements
  • A Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA-accredited clinical psychology training program.
  • Completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship/residency.
  • Maintain responsibility for professional development and continuing education requirements.
