Job Title: Lather Mechanic - Interior Systems Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Lather Mechanic to join our team at Westrose Interiors. As a Lather Mechanic, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing suspended metal ceiling grids, measuring, cutting, and fitting drywall sheets, and positioning and securing sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Utilize laser alignment system
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of experience
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Judgement and reliability
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
