Electrical/Hardware Engineer Opportunity

MDA Space, a global leader in space exploration and infrastructure, is seeking an Electrical/Hardware Engineer to join our Vision System and Sensor team in Kanata/Ottawa. With 40 years of operational experience and 100% mission success on iconic programs like the Canadarm, our team has a proven track record of making space dreams come true.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to complex projects involving the design of products for spacecraft relative navigation sensors, processing platforms, vision systems, and LiDAR solutions.
  • Perform circuit card level design and testing for analog and digital circuitry.
  • Conduct and document engineering analysis, including derating, worst-case, reliability, radiation, EMI/EMC analysis, FMECA, and power budget.
  • Perform acceptance test procedures on engineering and flight model hardware.
  • Assist with project estimation.
Requirements:
  • Digital and analog design background.
  • Familiarity with radiation analysis.
  • Familiarity with FPGA design, including implementation into a CCA with internal RTL experience.
  • Familiarity with LiDAR or other laser-related design and test.
  • Schematic capture and board layout skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (English).
  • Able to obtain a Federal Government Security Clearance (minimum Reliability level).
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
