The University of Niagara Falls Canada is committed to delivering exceptional educational experiences, and we are seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) team.

About the Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer who can develop interactive and research-grounded online courses. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design best practices, including the ability to create engaging, inclusive content and manage projects to ensure timely completion.

You will work closely with our CTE team and other academic units to support faculty, curriculum developers, and specialists. This includes collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop eLearning storyboards and assisting faculty in developing instructional materials.

We value candidates who stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments. Your commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth will help you succeed in this role.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders will enable you to present ideas clearly and persuasively.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Develop eLearning storyboards using creative designs and instructional best practices
  • Assist faculty in developing instructional materials and organizing content
  • Design, support, and facilitate workshops and learning sessions
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments
  • Degree in Education or relevant field
  • Master's degree would be an asset
  • Certification in Instructional Design or equivalent experience
  • Quality Matters certification
  • Instructional design experience for a minimum of 2-4 years
  • Curriculum development experience would be an asset
