Position Overview:

The Construction Project Coordinator position is a permanent full-time role responsible for ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements. This individual will support project execution objectives and serve as the primary point of contact for construction, cost, and schedule issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of construction project management from start to completion.Promote a site culture that prioritizes safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory compliance.Lead project-related meetings, including progress updates, environmental reviews, safety briefings, quality control sessions, and other relevant discussions.Foster strong relationships with contractor construction management teams to address issues and overcome challenges proactively.Identify, document, and communicate project risks in the risk register.Provide timely estimates to clients.Oversee the change management process.Prepare regular construction progress reports as required.Participate in schedule and milestone development and tracking.Highlight social risks to the site security lead.Ensure the creation of construction deficiency lists and develop plans to address these deficiencies.Lead commissioning and turnover to operations.Lead project close-out, including claims resolution and lessons learned.Organize and facilitate construction kick-off meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth exchange of information and documented safety orientation.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience as a project manager or construction manager in the industrial construction sector.
  • A recognized certificate, diploma, or degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and supervisory abilities, as well as the capacity to work effectively with others to achieve desired results.
  • Analytical skills and knowledge necessary to identify opportunities for improvement based on a deep understanding of the business and competitive landscape, as well as market trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Project Management software (P6).
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License; preference given to candidates with a clean driving record (driving abstract required).

Working Conditions:

  • Travel to/from/within various job sites.
  • Travel across Canada when required.
  • May be required to work outside regular working hours.
  • Daily exposure to a construction environment (heavy equipment, inclement weather, etc.).
