Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Shared Health - Selkirk Mental Health Centre. As a key member of the treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions to patients based on recovery/treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patients with supervision and guidance, assistance with personal care, comfort, and support in going about daily living, therapeutic, and recreational activities in a safe manner.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team, carrying out specific therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients.
  • Assist patients with personal care, comfort, and support in going about daily living, therapeutic, and recreational activities in a safe manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledge in Aboriginal customs, traditions, and values.
Working Conditions

The position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
