Pharmacy Manager Job Description

As a Pharmacy Manager at Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation to customers and healthcare providers, practicing to full scope in providing professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.
  • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed, maintaining all records required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy.
  • Control access to the dispensary with respect to inventory and patient confidentiality, reviewing and maintaining workflow queues on a daily basis.
  • Review stock to identify expired inventory, overseeing current stock levels and medication orders from wholesalers, and ensuring all requirements for documentation and control of substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations are met.
  • Lead by example, supporting enterprise programs, and driving business growth, while providing coaching to pharmacy colleagues and ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are followed.
Requirements:
  • Independent thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to formulate and execute action plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience in customer relations and conflict resolution.
  • Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of pharmacy systems, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
